Description
Albendazole is a synthetic anthelmintic which belongs to the group of benzimidazole-derivatives with activity against a broad range of worms and at a higher dosage level also against adult stages of liver fluke.
Indication
Prevention and treatment of worm infections in cattle, calves, sheep and goats like:
Gastrointestinal worms: Bunostomum, Cooperia, Chabertia, Haemonchus, Nematodirus, Oesophagostomum,Ostertagia, Strongyloides andTrichostrongylus spp.
Lung worms: Dictyocaulus viviparus and D. filaria
Tapeworms: Monieza spp.
Liver-fluke: adult Fasciola hepatica.
Dosage and Administration
For Oral administration:
Calves and cattle: 1 bolus per 60 kg. body weight.
For liver-fluke: 1 bolus per 35 kg. body weight.
Sheep and goats: 1 bolus per 35 kg. body weight.
For liver-fluke: 1 bolus per 30 kg. body weight.
Adverse Effects
(1)Dog will appear anorexia gradually, after administration of 50mg/kg, twice a day.
(2)Cats may have mild drowsiness, depression, anorexia and other symptoms.
(3)It may cause aplastic anemia of dog and cat.
(4)It is harm to the embryos and cause fetal anomalies in early pregnant animals.
Contraindication
(1)The product is not used in lactating cattle.
(2)Do not used to ewes and cows during early pregnancy (first 45 days).
Precaution
(1)Long-term continuous using can cause drug resistance of worm and crossed drug resistance.
(2)Animals should not use during pregnancy; cattle and sheep are forbidden to use during first 45days of pregnancy.
Withdrawal Period
Meat : 12days
Milk : 4 days.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry and dark place below 30°c.
