Product Name	Sulfadimidine Sodium 33% Injection
Composition	Contains per ml: Sulfadimidine Sodium-------------------330 mg Solvents ad.----------------------------------1 ml
Description	Sulfadimidine acts usually bactericidal against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative micro-organisms, like Corynebacterium, E. coli, Fusobacterium necrophorum, Pasteurella, Salmonella and Streptococcus spp. Sulfadimidine affect bacterial purine synthesis, as a result of which a blockade is accomplished.
Indication	Hypersensitivity to sulfonamides. Administration to animals with a serious impaired renal and/or liver function or with blood dyscrasias.
Dosage and Administration	Parenteral and oral route: (1)Ruminants adults: parenteral route only. (2)Cattle,sheep,goats,pigs(intramuscular route),equines(intravenous route): 3ml per 10 kg body weight per day,for 3 to 5 days. (3)The daily dosage should be taken in two injections(don not use more than 50 ml per injection). (4)Poultry and rabbits:(oral route)5 to 6 ml per liter of drinking water per day,for 3 to 5 days.
Side Effects	(1)Sulfanilamide and its metabolin can precipitate in the urine. Long-term application easily make crystallization which cause crystalluria, hematuresis and blocking of kidney tubules. (2)Untoward effect of SD on dogs includes: keratoconjunctivitissicca, vomit, inappetence diarrhea, fever, urticaria and multiple arthritis. Long-term treatmentmay also cause hypothyroidism. (3)On cats, it mainly shows: inappetence, leukopenia and anemia. (4)Horse: intravenous injection can cause temporary paralysis, oral may cause diarrhea. (5)Sulfonamides injection is alkali solution, intramuscular injection, cause strong stimulation to organization.
Precaution	(1) This products would separate out crystal when mixed with acid so do not use 5% Glucose Liquid to dilute it. (2) Long term or massive application would cause crystalluria so sodium bicarbonate and large amount of water should be applied at the same time. (3) If any anaphylaxis or other serious untoward effect appear, stop dosage and cure immediately.
Withdrawal Period	meat and offal:10 days; milk:5 days(10 milkings); eggs:12 days; poultry:14 days.
